We’ve all been there. The shopping excursion that goes from calm to chaos. Bedtime, when sleep seems unattainable. Homework battles. Mealtime struggles. Overstimulation or hyperactivity. The list goes on! And let’s face it, yelling, shaming, and telling kids to “calm down” simply doesn’t work. In fact, it can escalate the behavior. That’s because, in these moments, their nervous system literally go haywire. So, how can we support our children in those turbulent moments when they are struggling to regulate and calm their own systems?
That’s exactly what we asked ourselves, not only as physicians, but as parents of two children who also struggle with self-regulation. On our quest for a solution, we found substantial data highlighting three pathways that stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system to generate a sense of inner peace and calm. They are controlled breathing with extended exhalation, visual focus, and auditory regulation. While each helps calm the nervous system independently, the combination of all three proves most effective in achieving quick and lasting results. Our next mission was to create a simple method for children to engage all three pathways simultaneously, and that is how the webe kälm was born!

Backed by doctors and proven effective by families, the webe kälm activates all three calming pathways in harmony to synergistically regulate the nervous system. First, an immediate soothing effect is experienced through slow extended exhalation into the mouthpiece. Next, visual focus on keeping the ball aloft generates mindfulness. Finally, with each exhalation, “white noise” is created in the chamber, reminiscent of natural sounds that trigger neural connections created during fetal development. This cumulative approach helps children connect to their minds and bodies, while filtering outside distractions. What’s more, it empowers children to harness control when their emotions and behavior steer off course. In fact, that sense of self-regulation is so desirable that, after a while, kids will grab the webe kälm themselves to help find their own calm.

We have dedicated years of effort to create the groundbreaking tool known as the webe kälm. Our team of passionate parents worked tirelessly to develop an experience that enables caregivers to connect with children and young adults through the principle of co-regulation. Co-regulation involves the collaborative effort of adults and children to find a sense of calmness when feeling off-balance, constituting the fourth pathway. With the empowering webe kälm, we strive to uplift and support each other during challenging moments, thus harmonizing all four pathways and embarking on a journey of shared calmness.
Remember, WeBe in this together!
We sincerely appreciate your love for your child and your commitment to helping them discover their inner calmness. Our ultimate mission is to bring tranquility to children, one webe kälm at a time.
